In order to get the OHI in feet, the oil price would have to be in $/cu.ft.

My other (much harder) hobby is trying to engineer situations where I have an excuse to use more than one of them in short succession.

My biggest fear is that colonial engineers will try to flood me to generate electricity. My biggest hope is that I'll develop sailing stones.

Why is he wearing a towel?

That's not a towel, that's water.

There is a towel under that water, I guess if he pushes it away it will remove some water briefly.

Because this strip is PG-13. No full frontal allowed.

See panel one, the crotchal area is not a problem. I think the pont is that there isn't enough towel for the water.

More to the point, why is he wearing a beret?
silberbaer

In panel one he's fully clothed! In panel three he's just stepped out of the shower.

I mean, I wouldn't wear a beret in the shower myself, but obviously folks are free to be folks.

Occasionally the comments are more entertaining than the comic.

Technically he's never actually seen wearing the beret in the shower. Maybe he puts it on immediateyl upon exiting.

The git vehicle fleet eventually pivoted to selling ice cream, but some holdovers remain. If you flag down an ice cream truck and hand the driver a floppy disk, a few hours later you'll get an invite to a git repo.

FWIW, the comics and alt text are working for me on mobile. Is alt_text_bot still needed?

I like it. Even on desktop it's easier for me to read than the hover text.

I’ve heard of low background steel, which is a great story of cutting up scuttled WWI battleships
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low-background_steel

I didn’t know about the Roman lead used for shielding
https://www.nature.com/news/2010/100415/full/news.2010.186.html

But now I are gotta find out why freshly mined lead has radioactive lead-210 in it but in old mined lead it has already decayed, since the lead atoms themselves all being the same age. Must have to do with trace elements decaying into lead-210
